Buick Electra SUV Concept
As a vivid interpretation of new technologies and brands, Buick "Electra" SUV precursor debuted together with its MPV and Sedan precursor at the 2025 Shanghai auto show. Created by PATAC Advanced Design & Styling Center, which is GM's second largest design center. These show cars not only preview the Buick's upcoming mass-produced NEV models, but also showcase Buick's extensive portfolio and profound insight into future intelligent travel.
Under the "Xiaoyao" architecture, Buick's latest new energy SUV concept redefines the fusion of luxury, style, and dynamic aesthetics. Wing-inspired design elements are integrated through the body, with a streamlined silhouette that conveys both refined elegance and athletic energy. Key proportions-such as a short front overhang, an extended hood, large wheels, and a long wheelbase-not only elevate the sense of premium but also deliver class-leading interior space.
Built on an advanced EV platform, the vehicle's exterior has been optimized for aerodynamic performance. The front face is a closed one-piece design, where airflow is guided through a precision-crafted slit above the headlamps to circulate within the cabin and cool the battery pack. Floating D-pillar and rear spoiler efficiently guides the airflow and reduces the drag, which brings efficient driving experience.
The metallic photochromic paint is tailored for "Electra", inspired by the fusion of nature and futurism. It reveals remarkably rich yet harmonious layered visual effect under varying lighting conditions. At stillness, it displays a translucent pale green metallic sheen, creating a fresh yet poised first impression. At sunlight, delicate golden highlights emerge across its surface, make it lithe, ethereal yet luxurious. With angle shift, you can capture the subtle blue halos shining hazily, evoking a sense of motion and vitality. This unique chromatic innovation rising above the visual limit of conventional single metallic color while aligning perfectly with the NEV era's demand for agile and futuristic design.
